Are you a keen mountain bike enthusiast and think you might like to assist with the construction of stage one of the Wild Mersey Mountain Bike trails?  This world-class mountain bike project is being built over four stages with construction for stage one commencing this month. Included in the construction team is a local group of enthusiastic mountain bike volunteers who will build five trails in the Warrawee Reserve.  The team is seeking additional volunteers to join their crew with induction and training in the technique of building mountain bike trails provided to all participants.  If you are interested please contact Chris Stredwick at chrisandselina@westnet.com.au for more information.

Council recently called for Expressions of Interest for the operation of a temporary pop-up style café adjacent to the Port Sorell Surf Club at North Freers Beach, Shearwater.  An information package is available from Council’s website or by request at the Council Office.  EOI’s should be forwarded to Latrobe Council, P O Box 63, Latrobe, 7307 or emailed to council@latrobe.tas.gov.au no later than 5:00pm on 7 September 2018.

It’s great to see the footpath extension from Shearwater Esplanade to the Port Sorell Jetty taking shape.  Although the footpath may look ‘standard issue’ at the moment, Council will be adding some features in the very near future.  Check Facebook/LatrobeCouncilTas for updates and keep an eye out for the next and subsequent pours.

Best of luck to the Wesley Vale Football Club this weekend as they play Forth for the NWFA Premiership and also to Latrobe Football Club who have all three teams competing in the NWFL Preliminary Finals at East Devonport.
